Humans are walking through the forest, illuminating the night with their torches. They are shouting and searching. When they find a wolf, they kill it with blows from their axes and swords. Kezhda huddles, scared, under the cover of a thorny bush. When the morning rises and the humans have left, Kezhda cannot find a single member of his pack still living.
